Happy Valentine’s Day!

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Lacy Miller’s newest single, Jonathan’s Song, is released today for Valentine’s Day.  The deeply personal ballad, inspired by her own love story has only been heard by the public once, on Lacy’s wedding day, when she managed to pull off a romantic surprise during the ceremony.

To bring this heartfelt composition to life, Lacy worked with Argentinian producer Ariel Delgado, whose impressive credits include work on The Voice and Disney productions. Delgado, also the producer behind Lacy’s debut single House on a Hill, masterfully crafted the instrumentation for Jonathan’s SongLacy recorded the vocals at Coast Records, with engineering by Matt Zutell.

“I hope this song encourages people to wait for the right one” says Lacy. “One of my favorite definitions of the word love is actually from a book in the Bible 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. That is true love. That is Jonathan.”

Lacy and Jonathan’s love story:

Once upon a time, in the magical land of Charleston, South Carolina, Lacy and Jonathan (aka Hollywood) met in the buffet line (of course) at Irene’s Friendsgiving party. Unbeknownst to Lacy, Irene had invited all of her single guy friends to the party and let them know that Lacy was single!

Lacy had to leave the party early, but before she left, Jonathan said, “I will see you again, you intrigue me.”

While Lacy enjoyed meeting him, in her mind she said, “No… I wouldn’t go out with a crazy New York actor and comedian; he definitely wouldn’t have the same values.”

Little did Lacy know, Jonathan had other plans.

Meanwhile, Lacy met another fellow and started dating him.

Fast forward to December 5th. Lacy was headlining at a jazz club in Charleston. She stepped out on stage and saw the guy she was dating in the second row… and that crazy actor Jonathan sitting in the front row center with his friend Lee, with a big grin on his face. Uh oh!

Needless to say, Lacy did not come out after the show like usual to meet everyone, worried that the crazy actor might make her date uncomfortable (and he would have, LOL).

Jonathan waited until the club started sweeping the floor before heading to drinks with Lee, Zach, and Irene, who said, “You missed your chance, Hollywood.”

Not to be deterred, @jonnydhollywood was soon following @lacymillerofficial on Instagram.

Lacy received a sweet message and a dinner invitation from Jonathan, to which she replied, “Thank you so much for thinking of me. I just started seeing someone, and I only go out with one guy at a time. If he turns out to be an axe murderer, I’ll let you know.”

Perplexed by her reply, Jonathan ascertained that she had left the door slightly ajar and decided to put his proverbial foot in it, saying, “Classy and fabulous ladies that love Jesus are rare these days, so I had to ask. I’ll see you at another show sometime.”

“Wow, that is the sweetest reply I’ve ever gotten after rejecting a guy,” Lacy thought, and it stuck in her mind.

Fast forward a few more weeks, and Lacy was out with “That Bland Boy,” as her family had named the guy she was seeing. On the date, Bland found out that Lacy is a vegetarian and doesn’t understand football, to which he replied, “Clearly, we have nothing in common. Here is some pie, and goodbye.”

Upon recounting the “Pie and Goodbye” story to her friend Giselle, she said, “You know, I think I had more in common with that actor guy…” Giselle encouraged her to reach back out to him.

Back on Instagram, Jonathan received a surprising message from Lacy: “Is it too late to change my ‘no’ to a ‘yes’? The axe murderer didn’t work out.”

After busting a move at work in a victory dance, Jonathan replied: “Funny, I actually extended the deadline, so you’re right on time. I will only go out with you if you still have all your fingers and toes.”

“Fingers, toes, and humor all intact,” Lacy replied.

To make a long story longer, Jonathan’s first-date restaurant pick was 167 Raw, to which Lacy replied with a link to the scene from Hitch where Will Smith swells up from a shellfish reaction and the message, “Looks like I can eat the guacamole and the key lime pie safely.”

As much as he wanted to see the scene play out, Jonathan pivoted to the Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan’s Island. They talked for hours, and the rest is history.

Jonathan proposed to Lacy on Folly Beach and had lured her there under the pretense that baby turtles were hatching. She initially declined since she was wearing suede high-heeled boots, but Jonathan really wanted to see the turtles, so she said yes. There were no turtles. Jonathan had a beautiful beach picnic arranged and proposed with the Morris Island Light in the background. She said yes!

Together they planned what has been coined the “wedding of the century” by their friends and family. With their shared love of music, they decided to pull out all the stops and feature Charleston duo Finnegan Bell, singer-songwriter Trenton Durham, and organist Beverly Bradley, in the ceremony at the historic First Baptist Church in downtown Charleston. Three of the bridesmaids, Emily Gracie Miller, Heather Rice, and Irene Rose Smith, who are also professional singers, added lovely harmonies to the musical selections.

One day Jonathan called Lacy and said, “Babe, don’t be mad, I went a little over budget and hired a gospel choir, The Voices of Deliverance!” How could Lacy be mad leaving the ceremony to “Oh Happy Day” in the beautiful courtyard?

There was one musical selection that the groom was not expecting that day. Lacy had secretly hired music producer Ariel Delgado and engineer Matt Zutell from Coast Records to help her record “Jonathan’s Song.” She had written the original song to walk down the aisle. Jonathan thought she was walking to the hymn “Come Thou Fount,” but Lacy had met with organist Beverly ahead of time to arrange the surprise.

When the moment came, Lacy, arm in arm with her uncle Dave, stepped through the doors. The organ stopped and the sound of her voice filled the sanctuary. Guests began softly murmuring, “Is that her voice?” and “Did she write this song?” Jonathan knew. As soon as he heard the words of Lacy’s musical love letter, his eyes welled with tears. There was not a dry eye in the room.

Following the ceremony, guests headed to the historic William Aiken House for an unforgettable party. DJ friends Tom and John made sure there was never a dull moment at the reception and guests were stunned when an announcement rang out, please welcome the world-famous Tams!  The iconic beach shag dance band hit the floor with electric energy and their classic moves, bringing the house down with their signature hit, “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy” during which they handed a mic to the bride and groom for a cameo.

After a whirlwind honeymoon to Paris, Rome, Venice, and the Amalfi Coast, the couple settled in New York City where Jonathan owns a business and Lacy is working on her first solo album. As the album will hit the airwaves in 2026, Lacy is releasing Jonathan’s Song early as a single on February 14th, 2025. The song will be available on all major music platforms.

Jonathan is Lacy’s biggest fan and supporter. He is eagerly anticipating the day where he can say, “Hey Alexa, play Jonathan’s Song!”
