The Proposal
The day after Thanksgiving, Chris proposed to Rachel in Marion Square in Downtown Charleston. To celebrate their special day, he had both of their families waiting for them at a restaurant down the street.

In Preparation
Rachel had always visualized a bright, spring wedding. After going through an extensive event design process, they took inspiration from one of their favorite spots, The Garden Room, which is an immersive garden bar in the heart of Atlanta. There wasn’t anything out there inspiration-wise that was exactly what Rachel envisioned in terms of the florals for her reception, so they did a digital rendering of a centerpiece.
While Rachel was not a bride to shy away from bright colors, she did want a very classic ceremony. They opted to use a progression of color throughout the event. While the ceremony started out with all white and ivory florals, the cocktail hour added the use of color to tie together the design of the ceremony and reception spaces.
With a colorful spring wedding in mind, naturally, Rachel wanted to incorporate that into the bridesmaid’s attire. While she gave them a color guide to go off, the dresses the bridesmaids chose were a complete surprise to her on the wedding day! To keep things cohesive with the wedding party attire, Chris and the groomsmen opted for classic black tuxes.

The Big Day
The vibe of Chris and Rachel’s whole day was fun! Starting with the getting ready room at the hotel where girls were dancing around, laughing, and sharing stories as they got their hair and makeup done. Once everyone was ready, all the bridesmaids waited for Rachel in the lobby of the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta Hotel.
After a fun morning getting ready, Rachel and her bridesmaids met the groom and groomsmen at The Atlanta History Center Swan House for photos. The bride and groom shared a sweet first look then took photos around the property.
Wanting to keep the ceremony very classic, Rachel and Chris had two gorgeous trees with white florals as their ceremony décor and then added some pinks for spring for their reception décor. After the ceremony, the couple joined all their friends and family for dinner and dancing in the ballroom at the Atlanta History Center where they cranked up the party with Revel Radio from Sam Hill Entertainment.

The Retreat
Rachel and Chris embarked on an unforgettable honeymoon in the captivating country of South Africa, exploring the diverse regions of Cape Town, Hermanus, Franschhoek, and Kruger over the course of two weeks. Their culinary journey led them to savor the finest dishes, with a particular standout being a heavenly risotto at Leeu Estates in Franschhoek. While wine-tasting at Lanzerac wine estate, they discovered their best indulgence – a mesmerizing glass of pinotage. However, the most thrilling part of their adventure was the breathtaking safari at Sabi Sabi, where they were awe-struck by the sight of lions during the enchanting golden hour. These cherished memories of their South African honeymoon will forever hold a special place in their hearts, marking it as a truly magical journey of love and adventure.
